Open track nights at Cape a huge success

August 12, 2022

If you missed it, you missed out! A big thank you to Tim Bamforth, Martin Rodriguez and Seashore Striders for hosting open track nights at Cape High School on Tuesdays from June 14 to July 26. As a road runner who enjoys distance runs (10-13 miles), this was quite the experience. Not only was this challenging, as I had never run track short of the Maggie’s Mile run at Cape last year, but a very rewarding and informative experience. I came away with learning and understanding more about track workouts – and pacing, which is my weakness. While we had a mostly small group, it was full of friendly competition. The open track night Tim hosted July 19, wherein local coaches brought their athletes (all ages) to compete, was awesome! In closing, thank you again, Tim, Martin and Seashore Striders, for hosting and volunteering not only your time but knowledge with this Rookie Runner.
