A new local business works with companies to design innovative health promotion programs to engage employees and promote a healthy workplace culture.
Our Company Culture was founded on the idea that a company’s greatest asset is its people, and that health and happiness are the keys to success in business and in life. When employers invest in the well-being of their populations, individuals are more productive, teams perform better and organizations thrive.
OCC works with small businesses whose principals are looking to build a wellness program from the ground up. OCC team members travel to worksites and offer healthy cooking demonstrations, mindful meditation workshops, health coaching sessions, yoga and group exercise classes. The value comes in providing people the opportunity to learn and engage in health-promoting activities alongside their coworkers, which builds camaraderie, trust and loyalty across organizations.
Meg Alexander, OCC’s founder and chief wellness officer, received her master’s degree in public health from the University of Pennsylvania. She said she is committed to promoting health and happiness throughout the beach community she now calls home. “You don’t have to build an elaborate program. You just have to do something, because little changes lead to big results over time,” said Alexander.
