Outraged at treatment of Postal Service

August 20, 2020

Local post offices are now suddenly closed at lunchtime. Shutting down an essential public service right now is dangerous for America, when many Americans are forced, for their own safety, to exercise their constitutional right to vote by mail this year. A recent letter that would ordinarily take two days for delivery, arrived after 10 days.

Trillions of taxpayer dollars have been made available to help large private businesses during this public health and economic disaster. The essential postal service is denied help, and instead is deliberately harmed and degraded. Sussex County residents, Delawareans and all Americans should be outraged by the dangerous cuts to the Postal Service that take away our freedoms and intend to disenfranchise those not willing to risk their life at the polls.
