Overfalls Anchor Drop to take place Dec. 31 in Lewes Canalfront Park

The Overfalls Foundation will host its 11th annual Anchor Drop from 11:45 p.m., Friday, Dec. 31, to 12:15 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022, to welcome in the new year. Attendees at the Lewes Canalfront Park site can enjoy toasty fires to keep warm by, plus hot chocolate and seasonal music to dance or sing along to. After a countdown, at exactly midnight, volunteers from the Lightship Overfalls will drop a lighted anchor from the top of the mast to the deck of the historic ship.

This event is weather dependent. The crew can handle cold and wind but, unlike the faithful Overfalls, not rain, ice and/or snow! For details on the Overfalls Foundation and the Lightship Overfalls, go to overfalls.org.
