Overfalls Foundation kicks off speaker series Jan. 17

January 12, 2020

The Overfalls Foundation has announced its first speaker program for 2020, to be held at 7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 17, in the parish hall of St. Peter’s Church on Second Street in downtown Lewes.

Red Moulinier of the Delaware River and Bay Lighthouse Foundation will be the guest speaker. The DRBLF owns the Harbor of Refuge Lighthouse at the mouth of the Delaware Bay, and Moulinier and his team will present highlights of their progress and struggles in preserving this iconic landmark.

Moulinier has been involved with the Delaware River and Bay Lighthouse Foundation since 2002. As foundation president from 2012 until October 2019, he was instrumental in securing funding and managing the construction of the new dock at Harbor of Refuge Lighthouse. This revitalized restoration efforts in 2017, and tours resumed in 2018. For his efforts, Moulinier was inducted into the Delaware Maritime Hall of Fame in 2018. The DRBLF has continued its preservation, restoration and education efforts since 2002 and will continue into the future.

This program is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. For more information, go to www.overfalls.org.
