Painting Landscapes workshop set at Rehoboth Art League Nov. 13-14

For the intermediate and advanced painter
November 2, 2019

Oil and acrylic painters who want to learn new skills can come to the Rehoboth Art League’s Painting Landscapes workshop Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 13-14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guest artist Gina Cannone will teach students tree and foliage structure, clouds and water in depth. Painting techniques including brushwork, value and color will also be explored.

Referencing the work of the Masters, students will work to develop their skills in painting textures and surfaces while concentrating on the use of light, shape, and form. This workshop is for the intermediate and advanced painter. The cost of the two-day workshop is $238 per person.

Cannone received a fine arts degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. She then lived in Italy for a year studying with local artists. Upon returning she opened her own art and design company in New York. She is known as one of the top muralists in the tri-state area. Cannone has been featured in many magazines as well as in a SoHo Gallery. Her talent ranges from traditional oil painting to modern sophisticated designs.

She was also host and artist for the “Artistic Creations” television show in Staten Island and Brooklyn, N.Y.  During each show she taught drawing and painting techniques and design. Presently, Cannone teaches drawing and painting for the novice to advanced artist, and shows her work at the Main Avenue Galleria & School of Art in Ocean Grove, N.J.

To register for the workshop, go to www.rehobothartleague.org or call the Art League at 302-227-8408 Ext. 112.  All workshops are held at the Rehoboth Art League located at 12 Dodds Lane, Henlopen Acres.

The Art League is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making art accessible to all. This program is made possible, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.  The Division promotes Delaware arts events on www.DelawareScene.com.
