Pathways to Success seeking volunteer tutors

March 11, 2021

Pathways to Success, a nonprofit organization that supports underserved students at Cape Henlopen, Milford, Seaford and Sussex Technical high schools, is in need of volunteer tutors.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been extremely challenging, but in particular for the students. Tutors who have the skills and knowledge as retired teachers and others who feel comfortable tutoring at the high school level are encouraged to consider this opportunity.  Most of the tutoring opportunities are held virtually, either with Zoom or other applications.

Fay Blake, Pathways to Success founder and executive director, said: “It takes a village to help a child, and we are asking the community to help these students succeed.”

In its 13 years, Pathways to Success has reached 98 percent on-time graduation with 96 percent of the students going on to college, the military or finding a full-time job. With the help of tutors, they will continue to meet or exceed those results.
