Pathways to Success thanks Fork + Flask for support

On one of the coldest evenings of the season, Pathways to Success supporters and friends attended the Fork + Flask’s dine and donate fundraiser.

The evening was a true success. Fay Blake, Pathways to Success executive director, said, “We are so appreciative to Fork + Flask for their support. Special thanks to their team members Erica Weigman, Sean Corea and Tom Little for helping us organize and publicize the event along with our Pathways to Success Outreach Coordinator Sarah Gilmour. Karen Sposato with Sposato Family Vineyards, who is also a Pathways to Success supporter, was instrumental in making the evening such a success, and was on hand to welcome guests for Banging Bonarda Burger Night. It takes a village. Besides all of these people supporting us, Jeff Balk, general manager at 99.1 FM Radio Rehoboth, Michael Sprouse with 105.9 FM Coastal A&E and Bob Yesbek on 105.9 FM Sip ‘n Bite all helped us raise awareness about our program and the fundraiser.”

Sean Corea, Fork + Flask’s executive chef and general manager, said, “It was a humbling experience working with Pathways to make this a successful event. People like Fay, Sarah and the entire Pathways to Success team are important in this community, and we are grateful to have played a part in the work that they do for this event.”

Funds raised from Fork + Flask’s contribution and a 50/50 raffle will benefit the Pathways to Success students attending Cape Henlopen High School. Future Pathways to Success fundraisers at Sussex County restaurants will benefit students in the Pathways to Success program attending Milford, Seaford and Sussex Technical high schools.

With a Pathways administrator at each one of these schools, this all-encompassing program is based on genuinely caring about students who are at-risk for not graduating. With a 98 percent graduation rate, and 96 percent of the graduates attending college, going into the military or finding jobs, the program has been quite successful.
