Patricia R.H. Short, retail jewelry saleswoman

August 15, 2018

Patricia R.H. Short passed away peacefully at her home in Lewes Friday, July 27, 2018.

Pat was born in West Allis, Wis., in 1946, and worked in the retail jewelry sales business near Milwaukee where she met her late husband and "best friend" Chris Short, pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies and Milwaukee Brewers. Pat and Chris moved to Delaware in the 1970s, and later she managed a Silver Works store in Newark.

Pat was a huge Green Bay Packers fan. She also enjoyed gardening, country music, fishing with Chris, ice cold Old Milwaukee Light, and spending time with her family and friends. Pat retired to Lewes 10 years ago where she made many new and dear friends, and Shuckers was her favorite place to visit with them. When she talked about her life Pat often remarked "what a lucky girl she was." Pat will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, Thursday, Aug. 23, at 11 a.m. Friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Union Cemetery at 1 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made in Pat's name to the Disabled American Veterans Charity at www.DAV.org.
