Patrick ‘PChief’ Johnathan Belle, family meant everything

Patrick “PChief” Johnathan Belle, 35, passed away Sunday, Aug. 30, 2020, in Georgetown.

Patrick was born Jan. 13, 1985, in Milford, to Adrienne Custis and Christopher Griffin. He graduated from Laurel High School in 2003. Patrick attended Delaware Valley University for a year. One of his jobs that he delightfully enjoyed was traveling all over the United States working with a furniture store setup company, along with various other jobs including the restaurant/food industry. Everyone at his current job loved him dearly. His children remember him as a kind, gentle, patient and loving father who always encouraged them. Family meant everything to Patrick.

Patrick was a playful and witty man who loved everyone and enjoyed playing pranks. He was a loveable and kind person. Reading and sports were his favorite pastime that he enjoyed. Attending sports events to see his brothers and sons brought him great joy. The New England Patriots was his favorite football team. Patrick was a team player on and off the field of sports and life in general, respectful and courteous to everyone he met.

Patrick is survived by his parents, Adrienne/Fred Custis of Laurel; and children Christopher Griffin of Seaford, Patrick Belle Jr., Isaiah Belle, Aubrie Collick and Arriona Collick; brothers Tyler Belle of West Chester, Pa., Brooks Parker of Laurel, and Aaron Prattis UMES of Princess Anne, Md.; grandmothers Roisin Greer-Roelants and fiancé Dola Stewart, and Veronica Griffin; great-grandmother Edna Smith; uncle/aunt Dwayne/Yvonne Griffin of Delmar, Md., Sherita Belle of Milford, Vanette Belle of Laurel, Lavanion/Aleeshia Belle of Laurel, Terrance Griffin (Virginia), Clarence/Patrina Giles of Laurel, Brandon Griffin, Doris Wheeler of New Rochelle, N.Y., Hattie Jones of Salisbury, Md., Dorthea/Steve Devore of Seaford, Rose/James Houston of Seaford, Vanessa/Joe Deloach of Laurel, Trudy Hammond of Maryland, Tambra Stewart of Georgetown, Valerie Griffin of Laurel, Penelope/Duncan of Delmar, Edward Burke of Florida, Bruce/Priscilla Burke of Millsboro, Craig Smith of Seaford, Carey Smith of Laurel, and Bryon Griffin of Salisbury, Md. He is preceded in death by grandfather Lavanion W. Belle Jr.; great-grandparents Lavanion W. Belle Sr. and Ruth W. Belle; stepfather Brooks Parker Jr.; stepgrandfather Larry Stewart, aunt Nanette Griffin,  uncle Roland Griffin, grandfather Clarence Giles Sr., great-grandmother Ethel Griffin, great-grandfather Rev. Russell Burke, Wilbert Smith, Tyrone Griffin, Danny Stewart, Michael Smith; and a host of special cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 1 p.m.,with a viewing two hours prior at Laurel Wesleyan Church in Laurel.

 

Services are entrusted to McPherson Funeral Services Inc., Laurel, DE.
