Paul Bauer has Dewey’s best interests at heart

September 6, 2019

I am writing to endorse Paul Bauer for re-election as a Dewey Beach town commissioner.  This is a volunteer job with no pay or other benefit to him personally. There are few people who would put in the time and energy that Paul does.

As a Dewey Beach property owner, I have been bombarded by negative emails from various groups criticizing the job that the town commissioners have been doing, and I am stunned by this.  Finger pointing and accusations are easily done via email.  What is not easy is to spend the hours and hours that Paul has spent trying to do the best he can for the betterment of the town. It seems like every weekend Paul has a special town meeting of one sort or another, in addition to the regular meetings.

On top of that, he often takes phone calls at all hours from various property owners asking for help with issues. He regularly attends town events to engage with people in the community - property owners and business owners alike - and does thankless jobs like wearing the Easter bunny costume.

He is proactive with state government and politicians to ensure Dewey gets appropriate attention and resources.

He is an ambassador of positivity for the town, and we are lucky that he is willing to serve for two more years.

I strongly urge my fellow property owners to re-elect Paul Bauer. Beyond that,  instead of being critical, I think we should all appreciate the job that he and all of the town commissioners do.  Even though I may not agree with every decision or every opinion, I recognize that every commissioner is trying to do their best for our wonderful community.  I hope you will join me in leaving the negativity behind and say thank you to Paul and all of the town commissioners!
