Paul Bunting Warren III, a husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026, at Bayhealth Hospital in Dover. Born Dec. 5, 1947, in Richmond, Va., Paul lived a life filled with love, dedication and a steadfast commitment to his family and community. He was the beloved son of the late Paul and Beatrice Warren.

Paul was a source of strength and love for those around him. He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Kathleen Warren; his children, Elizabeth Kwoka and her husband Anthony, Rebecca McGhee, and Sarah Warren. Paul was blessed with eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Paul was predeceased by his daughter, Jeanette Rohrer and her husband Charles.

A graduate of Unionville High School, Paul furthered his education by earning a bachelor’s degree from Cheyney State College. His career as a vocational instructor at Howard High School of Technology in Wilmington allowed him to touch the lives of many students with his knowledge and passion. In addition to teaching, Paul worked as a part-time general contractor and dedicated his summers working with the City of Wilmington youth program, helping his students rehabilitate houses. His friendship with Tom Colgan also led him and his students to work on the historic Kalmar Nyckel. Paul’s talents extended beyond his professional life. He was an avid woodworker, creating beautiful furniture for his family, and he spent time immersing himself in stained-glass projects.

Known for his warm smile and easygoing nature, Paul made friends wherever he went. He enjoyed sharing a good joke. His kindness and humor are remembered by everyone he met.

Paul will be remembered at a private ceremony, where his friends and family can gather this fall.

In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Paul and his parents, who gave Paul a well-traveled life through the military, the Warren family suggests a contribution to the Milford VFW Post 6483, 177 Veterans Circle, Milford, DE 19963.
