Paul F. Brasure, could fix anything

Paul F. Brasure, 92, of Dagsboro, formerly of Wilmington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021, at his home.  

He was born in Dagsboro Nov. 16, 1928, son of the late Floyd Brasure and the late Pearl (Smith) Brasure.  Paul graduated from John M. Clayton School class of 1946, and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1952-56.  

Paul worked for Electric Hose & Rubber Company for 23 years in Wilmington, and retired from Faulk Manor North Assisted Living as head of maintenance.  He was a mason with Brandywine Lodge #33 A.F. & A.M. in Wilmington.  Paul loved spending time working on his pristine yard and cutting his grass.  He will be remembered as a man that could fix anything.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Nellie V. (Evans) Brasure; two children, Wayne Brasure of Wilmington and Diane Huber of Dagsboro; and three grandchildren, Christine Stevens (Patrick) of Greensboro, N.C., Dennis Huber (Kristin) of Dagsboro and Jaclyn Brasure of Pennsylvania.  He is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Emma Stevens, Evelyn Stevens, Dawson Huber Karrington Huber and Kendrick Huber.

A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 23, at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St., Frankford.  A Masonic Service will begin at 2 p.m., followed by the funeral service.  Interment will follow at Dagsboro Redmen Cemetery.  Due to the COVID-19, pandemic social distancing protocols will be observed and masks are required for all of those in attendance.  

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Paul’s name to VITAS Hospice, 30265 Commerce Dr., Suite 202, Millsboro, DE 19966.
