PAWS-a-thon celebrates fitness

Dozens of people and their canine companions celebrated completion of a PAWS-a-thon Sept. 29 at the American Legion in Lewes.
During September, folks were encouraged to walk or run a cumulative marathon with their dog. It was a way to spend time with pets while also improving health.
The Sept. 29 celebration featured family friendly games and contests, including awards for the largest dog, smallest dog, waggiest tail and best costume. Every pet that completed the PAWS-a-thon received a special finisher tag.
