Pearl Jeanette McGowan, Stockley retiree

Pearl Jeanette McGowan of Greenwood passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 1, 2018, at Lofland Park Center, Seaford, where she resided after her stroke in March.

Pearl retired from the state of Delaware after 25 years of service at the Stockley Center as a cook.

She loved going to the Greenwood CHEER Center where she was always a winner at bingo. Pearl also loved her great-great-granddaughter, Serenity. She was always making things at CHEER to bring her and enjoyed buying treats for her from the store.

Pearl was predeceased by her husband, Walter McGowan; a son, Kenneth Hardy; and her sidekick, Daisey, her dog.

She is survived by her son, Robert Hardy and his wife Debbie with whom she lived for the past four years; granddaughter, Lisa Prentice and her husband Thomas who took care of her; and other grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Services are private and burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE with her husband.
