July 21, 2021

The Peninsula Gallery welcomes back the Delaware Coastal Camera Club for its exhibition to run Saturday, July 31, to Sunday, Aug. 29.

The photographs included in this show have been juried by the Peninsula Gallery and local photographer Brook Hedge.

An opening reception will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Saturday, July 31.

The show features a variety of photographs, with differing subjects presented in multiple mediums. The collection includes a combination of realist, abstract and minimalistic images, all created using diverse camera technology and skills.

Many of the artists chose to capture the local region, from images of local wildlife and iconic locations to community gathering spots. Other works encompass diverse subjects such as macro-flora imagery, foreign animals and seascapes, and grand architecture. With such a range of images, this exhibition has something for every taste.

In 2000, a group of 10 photography lovers formed the Coastal Camera Club to critique each other’s works, participate in outings and exchange knowledge about the art form. Today, the club has more than 240 members who build their artistic skills through educational and competitive activities. The club holds casual classes and small special-interest group meetings, in addition to its two monthly meetings. Club members assist with charitable organizations, using their creativity to help serve the local community.
