People’s Place SAFE and Abriendo Puertas receive $10K donation

July 4, 2019

Members of Delaware Womenade recently presented a check for $10,890 to People’s Place staff from the proceeds of their successful 3rd Annual Games Day fundraiser held May 16 at VFW Post 7234 in Ocean View.

People’s Place organizers extend their heartfelt thanks to Delaware Womenade for this generous donation, which will be used to support domestic violence survivors and their children. The People’s Place SAFE and Abriendo Puertas domestic violence programs have been privileged to work with the amazing members of Delaware Womenade since its founder Teresa Zatcoff held the first meeting almost 10 years ago. The financial support the programs have received since then has made a difference in the lives of hundreds of survivors fleeing from abusive relationships.

The financial support of Delaware Womenade helps assist survivors with costs associated with application fees, security deposits, car repairs, medication co-pays and many other expenses they would otherwise be unable to afford on their own.

People’s Place is a nonprofit human services organization with locations throughout the state offering a wide range of services to Delaware residents. The agency is a full member of the United Way of Delaware, and receives state and federal grants as well as private donations which ensure the success of its 10 programs.
