People need to wear face masks on trails

June 5, 2020

I enjoy the beautiful areas to walk and bike in this area, and for many it is now our only form of exercise. As the weather has grown nicer and more people have come to the area, I have noticed an increasing number of people who are not wearing face masks.

On the trails at Cape Henlopen, the majority of people I passed on a recent walk either didn’t have a face mask or didn’t feel the need to put it on as they passed others on paths that did not allow a six-foot social distance.

The governor’s order which requires the wearing of face masks in public areas pertains to both indoor and outdoor spaces. It is for the protection of all. The number of cases in Delaware continues to rise along with the number of deaths. Each one of us need to be considerate of all by wearing face masks to help stop the spread of this disease.
