Peter Sambogna, proud veteran

Peter Sambogna, 77, of Ocean View passed away in his sleep Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021.  He was born in Palisades Park, N.J., Saturday, Oct. 23, 1943, son of the late Pompilio and Philomena (Martini) Sambogna.

Mr. Sambogna graduated from Cliffside Park High School. He was a proud veteran, having honorably served in the U.S. Army, retiring as RA AGC in 1963. On Aug. 31, 1963, he married the love of his life, Mary Ann Sambogna.

Mr. Sambogna worked for Phillip Lighting Company, as a regional manager. He enjoyed talking to everybody. Above all, Mr. Sambogna loved time spent with those he held most dear. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Sambogna was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Ann Sambogna, and his son, Anthony Sambogna. He is survived by his children: Nick Sambogna, Joe Sambogna and Paul Sambogna (Carey); and his grandchildren: Anthony Sambogna, Erica Sambogna, John Sambogna and Jack Sambogna.

A memorial Mass will take place Saturday, Oct. 30, at 11 a.m., at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 691 Garfield Pkwy., Bethany Beach. Friends and family may also attend a memorial Mass Friday, Nov. 12, at 7:30 p.m., at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, 442 Brinkerhoff Ave., Palisades Park, N.J.
