Pi Day Festival to celebrate math and science March 14

March 10, 2020

The Great STEMporium will host a Pi Day Festival from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, March 14, offering an array of family-friendly activities, contests, and science demonstrations.

Held March 14, or 3/14, each year, Pi Day is recognized by math enthusiasts around the world. The date also marks Albert Einstein’s birthday, making it a perfect day to celebrate both math and science.

“We’ve been looking forward to this day since we opened last June,” said Cari Miller, STEMporium co-founder.

Attendees can choose to participate in a surprise birthday party for Einstein, complete with free cake to kick off the day. Other events include an Einstein look-alike contest, a pie-eating contest, science demonstrations, green-screen photos with Einstein and a Pi recitation contest. Many of the events include prizes. There will be several free and paid menu items along with a free gift related to the day’s theme while supplies last.

Entry is free. Some contest and menu items have a small fee. On-site sign-up is required to participate in the contests.

The Great STEMporium is near Go Brit! at 18388 Coastal Highway, No. 10, Lewes.
