PJ & Meg's Vikings Lacrosse Camp heats up Cape turf

101 campers learn lacrosse skills while having fun
June 21, 2018

More than 100 campers took part in the Vikings Lacrosse Camp June 18-20  at Cape Henlopen’s turf fields. It’s the sixth year for players from second to eighth grade. Players learned ground balls, dodges, defensive footwork, shooting, feeding, goalie skill work, 1-on-1 and defensive sliding. The camp director/co-founder is former Cape All-American and Virginia Tech alum Meg Bartley. Cape varsity coach Lindsey Eichner was the coordinator.

“This was one of our best years yet,” Bartley said. “We have really found some awesome counselors, but the kids are just as great. Their energy makes it so fun for us, and we love trying to help them just learn a few things for them to remember and work on them year round. More importantly, we all want them to think of lacrosse and think of having fun and making some lasting friendships on the field.”

“We love this camp,” Eichner said. “There are so many happy faces and love for lacrosse going around.”
