Po’ Boys to host April 20 fundraiser

Po’Boys Creole Restaurant in Milton will host a fundraiser Saturday, April 20 to help a Laurel man affected by the tornado that leveled section of Laurel.

Po’Boys will donate 20 percent of all proceeds that day to David Sully, a good friend of Po’Boys Chef Mike Clampitt. A motorcycle shop owner, Sully met Clampitt when Sully worked on Clampitt’s Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Clampitt said Sully’s Seaford Road home was destroyed in the April 15 storm, classified as an F2 tornado by the National Weather Service.

“He lost everything,” he said. “It’s just him and his dog.”

Clampitt said besides 20 percent of sales, Po’Boys will also accept donations, such as clothes, socks, underwear and dog food. He said Sully wears size 30 waisted jeans with a 32 length and medium shirts.
