Poetry reading at Millsboro library Jan. 9

David Salner and Linda Blaskey will read from their new books, “The Stillness of Certain Valleys” and “White Horses” respectively, at 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 9,  at the Millsboro Public Library, 217 W. State St., Millsboro.

Salner has been featured three times on Writers Almanac, and has been published in journals such as Threepenny Review, Iowa Review, and Ploughshares. He holds a master of fine arts degree from the University of Iowa Writers Workshop. He has worked as an iron ore miner, steelworker and machinist, and currently works as a librarian. He lives in Long Neck. He is the author of four books of poetry.

Blaskey is poetry editor for the Broadkill Review and the coordinator for the Dogfish Head Poetry Prize. She is the recipient of two fellowship grants from Delaware Division of the Arts, and her work has been chosen for inclusion in Best New Poets 2014 and in the North Carolina Poetry on the Bus project. She is the author of the chapbook “Farm” and coauthor with three other poets of “Walking the Sunken Boards.” She lives in southern Delaware on a small horse and goat farm with her husband.

The event is free and open to the public.
