A Dagsboro couple faces charges after police say they tried to move into a Lewes home without the owner’s consent.
Ray Pollard, 46, and his wife Michelle Pollard, 42, had parked their minivan in the garage of a home in the 16000 block of Derby Drive when the homeowners, who were not home at the time, told police that they did not know the couple, said Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe of the Delaware State Police.
Police arrived at the home at 4:55 p.m. and found the couple and their 16-year-old child who was sitting in a 2008 Honda Odyssey packed with the family’s belongings, Jaffe said. The family had broken into the residence with the intention of staying there, she said.
The couple resisted and failed to comply with officers’ commands as police took them into custody, Jaffe said.
The Pollards were both charged with second-degree burglary, second-degree conspiracy, endangering the welfare of a child, resisting arrest and criminal mischief. They were arraigned and released on $6,600 unsecured bond.
