Delaware State Police are investigating an apparent drowning after a man was pulled out of a retention pond Oct. 12 in the Long Neck area.
The apparent drowning happened at 11:22 a.m. in the Pelican Point development, said Master Cpl. Michael Austin of the Delaware State Police.
A 27-year-old man was struggling in the water while swimming when an acquaintance of his reported the incident, Austin said.
The man’s body was recovered from the pond after a search and rescue effort by the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, Austin said.
No foul play is suspected, he said.
