Police investigate attempted robbery in Long Neck

Delaware State Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred Sept. 14 in Mariner’s Cove.

A woman, 67, was loading items into her car at 9:27 a.m. at her home in the 35000 block of Sussex Lane when an unknown man approached her, said Master Cpl. Heather Pepper of the Delaware State Police.

The man pointed a gun at the woman and demanded money, Pepper said. When he was unsuccessful getting money from the woman, she said, he fled in a car of unknown make and model.

The woman was not injured during the incident. The man is described as thin, average height, and wearing a face covering.
