Delaware State Police are investigating after they say two men shot at a Lincoln home May 16 before entering the home and causing damage.
Police were called to the home in the 21000 block of Mayhew Drive at 1:50 a.m. May 16 after residents told them shots were fired at their home, and some projectiles reached inside the home, said Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe of Delaware State Police. The residents had a barbecue that ended about midnight when a car drove up and shots were fired, Jaffe said.
Three residents, a 29 year-old male, a 24-year-old male, and a 29-year-old female, were uninjured, but two fled, and one remained inside the home when the two men entered, Jaffe said.
The two men damaged items inside, Jaffe said, but residents are unsure whether anything was stolen.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Troop 4, Major Crimes Unit, Detective Doughty at 302-752-3794. Information may also be provided by calling Delaware crime stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333 or at http://www.delaware.crimestoppersweb.com.
