Police investigate Uncle Willie’s robbery

Delaware State Police are investigating a convenience store robbery that occurred Nov. 14.

The robbery happened at 9:09 p.m. at the Uncle Willie’s BP Station at 17580 Coastal Highway, Lewes, when a man entered the business and waited inside the store until other customers left, said Master Cpl. Heather Pepper of the Delaware State Police. He then approached the store counter, gave the clerk a plastic bag, and displayed a handgun while demanding the clerk put money in the bag, Pepper said. The cashier complied, and the suspect fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured during the incident, Pepper said. 

The man is described as black, 6-feet-2-inches to 6-feet-5-inches tall with a thin build, wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and pants.
