A Millsoboro woman faces charges after police say she threatened to kill her boyfriend Jan. 8 with a knife.
Police went to a home in the 27000 block of Pot of Gold Circle at 8:05 p.m. for a physical domestic report, and they found a man, 54, outside who said his girlfriend assaulted him, said Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe of the Delaware State Police.
The man told police Michelle L. Corbitt, 42, had physically assaulted him and then grabbed a knife and threatened to kill him, Jaffe said. The man had minor injuries but he declined medical treatment.
Police tried to make contact with Corbitt who was inside the home, but she refused to answer the door, Jaffe said. When police finally entered the home, she said, Corbitt resisted arrest and pulled away as police tried to handcuff her.
Corbitt was charged with possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, aggravated menacing, felony resisting arrest with force or violence, terroristic threatening and third-degree assault. She was arraigned and committed to Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution in default of $27,000 secured bond.
