Possum Juniors to present ‘Bus Stop’ July 20-22

July 14, 2018

Just when summer temperatures soar, Possum Juniors offer the perfect escape from heat, humidity and the routine. The Possum Point Players youth affiliate invites audiences to come into the air-conditioned Possum Hall and see a famous romantic dramedy about people stranded in a snowstorm. Juniors will present the William Inge play "Bus Stop" at 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday, July 20 and 21, and at 2 p.m., Sunday, July 22. General admission tickets are $10, and senior and student tickets are $8.

Director Braeden Swain has drawn a cast for this Possum Juniors summer production from many communities, from New Castle County to Long Neck in Sussex. Youth actors featured in "Bus Stop" include Jade Eisenacher, Middletown; Blair Williams, Millsboro; Alexis Waeldy, Frederica; William Kinna, Newark; and Connor Hall, Milford. Rounding out the cast are Jamie Riddle, Long Neck; Nick Outten, Georgetown; and Sava Cook, Seaford.

Swain invites theater patrons to keep their cool in Possum Hall as they watch cowboy rodeo star Beau trying to get nightclub singer Cherie to warm up to him when a blizzard strands their bus at a diner. As the other stranded travelers and diner staff serve up advice on the situation, Beau learns something about bullying, and Cherie realizes that she might be seeing an honest, openhearted man for the first time. Possum Hall is at 441 Old Laurel Road, Georgetown. All tickets are general admission. For more information, call 302-856-3460 or go to www.possumpointplayers.org.
