August 22, 2018

The Major Nathaniel Mitchell Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is sponsoring two contests for school-age individuals.

A poster contest for students in first through 12th grades has the theme What the U.S. Constitution Means to You. Submitted entries must be on paper between 8 1/2-by-11-inches and 8 1/2-by-14-inches. All entries must have an information sheet attached by paper clip listing the entrant’s name, school, grade, age, telephone number and name of parent or guardian. The entries will not be returned. The judges’ decision is final.

All entries must be postmarked by Wednesday, Sept. 5, and sent to Poster Contest, 20323 Ennis Road, Georgetown, DE 19947. All will be honored at the Constitution Week Celebration Saturday, Sept 15, in Georgetown.

An essay contest is for students in 1st through 12th grades. The essay must be typed, double-spaced, not to exceed three pages, with the theme of ‘A Delaware Signer of the U.S. Constitution.’ The same submission rules apply as for the poster contest.
