Preserving Rehoboth’s past important

December 18, 2020

When we decided to retire to Rehoboth, one of the attractions for my husband and me was its small-town charm as well as the fact that we met in Dewey Beach while participating in group houses.  While some are trying to preserve Rehoboth, there are others who want to make drastic changes as noted by the record number of demolition permits approved by Rehoboth city officials.

A historical architect once said you should keep the same footprint of a home when rebuilding.  City officials take note - there are very few “cottages” remaining in Rehoboth, and if you keep at it, we will become another Ocean City, Md. Kudos to Tom Kelly for preserving one of the “old” cottages.
