The contest is open to all photographers and includes separate categories for students. There are many chances to win awards for photographers of all ages and abilities. Categories include the Beauty of Prime Hook, Native Flowers and Plants, Native Birds, Native Wildlife, Delmarva Scenery, Senior Student and Junior Student. For a complete listing of contest rules, go to www.friendsofprimehook.com or visit the refuge office.

The cost to enter is $5 per photo or six photos for $25. There is no charge for student entries. Entries may be mailed to the refuge or delivered in person during refuge hours. The refuge address is 11978 Turkle Pond Road, Milton.

This year's contest exhibit will open with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 21, at the refuge auditorium. The exhibit will be open to the public for viewing daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., until Sunday, Dec. 9. Visitors are asked to vote for their favorite photo, which will receive a People's Choice Award at the conclusion of the show.

The Friends group thanks this year's panel of distinguished photographers who will be judges: Ken Arni, David Koster and Deny Howeth. The group also thanks the refuge staff and the many volunteers who help make the contest possible each fall.
