This year's theme was: What Does Service to Your Country Mean to You? In all, 29 winners were recognized within the state association's boundaries of Delaware, Marylaand and the District of Columbia.
Americanism essay contest first-place winners from the Cape Region are fifth-grader Charlotte Enman and seventh-grader Tejal Pillai. The Cape Henlopen Elks selected 8-year-old Brody Costello's poster as its winning entry.
Students were presented with winning certificates, gift cards and an art-themed gift for poster winners or a trophy for essay winners. Elks Americanism Chair Terrie Bradley coordinated the event.
