The 19th annual Mid-Atlantic Sea Glass & Coastal Arts Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, June 6 and 7, at the Historic Lewes campus at 110 Shipcarpenter St.  Featuring an array of activities designed to engage visitors in the exploration of the world of sea glass, the event will take place rain or shine.

More than 70 artists will showcase their sea glass and coastal-themed artworks including jewelry, home decor, wood and metal sculpture, ceramics, photography and painting. 

Glass history will be at the forefront of the festival, with one of the largest sea glass collections in the region on display. Visitors will learn how the nation’s 250-year history has influenced what sea glass collectors find on the beaches today.

Attendees of all ages are encouraged to visit the educational area to learn more about how sea glass is formed and view historic pieces from the past three centuries, including many local finds that are centuries old.

Glass-blowing demonstrations will reveal how glass manufacturing has changed throughout history, and there will be live music, engaging family activities and food options each day.

Throughout the weekend, there will be educational presentations from local and regional experts.

Children 12 and under are admitted free. Ticket proceeds benefit the preservation efforts of Historic Lewes.
