RBFS to screen ‘Ben is Back’ starting Jan. 11 at Cinema Art Theater

The Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater will present “Ben Is Back,” starting Friday, Jan. 11. This is a timely and powerful drama featuring a star-studded cast including Julia Roberts, in a story that delves into a family’s struggle with their son’s addiction.

Nineteen-year-old Ben Burns (played by Lucas Hedges) unexpectedly returns to his family’s suburban home on Christmas Eve morning. Ben’s mother, Holly (Roberts), is relieved and welcoming but wary about her son staying clean. Over a day, new truths are revealed and a mother’s undying love for her son is tested as she does everything in her power to keep him safe. “Ben is Back” also stars Courtney B. Vance (“The People V. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story”) and Kathryn Newton (“Lady Bird”).

Screening times are 4 and 7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 11; 4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 12; 3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 13; 4 p.m., Monday, Jan. 14; 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 16; and 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 17. Admission is $8 for members and $11 for nonmembers. Customers are encouraged to purchase tickets online. If seats are available, tickets can be purchased at the theater starting 30 minutes prior to each screening.
