August 12, 2020

“Made in Italy,” a heartwarming comedy about a father and son who mend their longtime estranged relationship, will open Friday, Aug. 14, at the Cinema Art Theater near Lewes.

Bohemian London artist Robert (played by Liam Neeson) returns to glorious Tuscany, Italy, with his estranged son Jack (played by Micheál Richardson) to make a quick sale of the house they inherited from his late wife. Neither expects to find the once-beautiful villa in such a state of disrepair. Renovations go badly, with father and son soon finding themselves at odds. As Robert and Jack painstakingly restore the villa to its previous glory, they also start to reconnect. The future may now look quite different and surprise them both.

Screening times are 4 p.m., Friday, Aug. 14; 7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 15; 3 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 16; 6 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 19; and 3 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 20. Admission is $8 for members and $11 for nonmembers. Customers are encouraged to purchase tickets online. If seats are available, tickets can be purchased at the theater starting 30 minutes prior to each screening.
