A fundraiser for the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company was held Aug. 22 at the home of Dennis and Stacy Sullivan. It raised more than $13,500.
The annual event took place in the Sawgrass community and drew 162 attendees. There was live music, food and a festive photo booth.
All the event’s proceeds went directly to RBVFC. The money raised will help fund essential gear, training and equipment for the volunteers who serve Rehoboth Beach and surrounding areas.
Earlier this year, the RBVFC launched a new major gifts initiative called the RBVFC Endowment and Ladder Society, which was created to build a more permanent funding stream in future years to lessen financial uncertainties. Entry into the society begins with a minimum $5,000 gift to the endowment, and members remain active with minimum annual contributions of $1,000 in subsequent years. A Founders Circle recognizes donors who join the society in its first two years. There's also the Legacy Circle, which honors individuals who include the RBVFC Endowment in their estate plans or wills.
The coverage area for the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company serves 32 square miles of land and water, stretching from the Indian River Inlet north to North Shores and west to Route 24.
The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all donations are 100% tax deductible. For more information on the RBVFC Endowment and Ladder Society, call the fire company at 302-227-8400 or email laddersociety@rehobothbeachfire.com.
