Read Aloud volunteers walk to support children’s literacy

Sussex County volunteers and friends of Read Aloud Delaware gathered at Plantation Lakes in Millsboro June 11 to support the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community and raise funds for Read Aloud.

Statewide, Read Aloud Delaware raised nearly $22,000 during the annual event, with Sussex County contributing almost $5,000 to the children’s literacy program.

Stacy Penaranda, Read Aloud Delaware Sussex County director, and Jeanne Brennan, Read Aloud Delaware board president, greeted walkers at the event.
