Recent letters encourage fearmongering

August 28, 2020

In response to Arthur E. Sowers PhD and Robert H. Coletti MD: what is the point of perpetuating the fearmongering that has been prevalent from day one of this virus?

For six months, many senior citizens in Delaware and elsewhere have been living as if they are in a leper colony.  There is never any hint of better times from the media and you are just throwing gasoline on the flames.

As an optimistic senior citizen,  I refuse to bow down to the forever doom-and-gloom syndrome. I know what I need to do, and unless everyone in the country is living under a rock, so do they;  wash hands, watch distance and wear a mask.

The subtext for Dr. Sowers seems to imply that “rational people” should remain locked down, not to mention referring to our children returning to school as a potential “train wreck.”  The real “train wreck” will be permanent damage to our children from not having a proper education.
