Register by July 27 for CHEER Car, Truck and Bike Show
The 8th Annual CHEER Car, Truck and Bike Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Warren L. & Charles C. Allen CHEER Community Center on Sand Hill Road east of Georgetown. Registration is open through Friday, July 27. More than 100 vehicles entered last year's event.
This year's theme will be The Year of the Car Clubs. Several local car clubs will be featured at the show.
Last year, the CHEER Nutrition Program provided over 314,000 meals to over 4,500 seniors across Sussex County. This event will raise money for CHEER's Cooking for Sussex Seniors Capital Campaign to build and equip a new kitchen to provide healthy meals for senior citizens for decades to come.
CHEER is also offering its famous gourmet champagne brunch during the show featuring steamed shrimp, prime rib, vegetables and breakfast foods. Tickets for the brunch are $25, available at the door. The brunch is open to the public.
Trophies will be awarded in several categories, and the first 125 cars registered will receive dash plaques. All entrants will receive goodie bags filled with items and information. Anniversary ribbons will be given to any entry of a vehicle model from 1968.
