Rehoboth Art League online oil painting class to start Jan. 27
Rehoboth Art League will offer an online oil painting class with local artist Joe Terrone from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Wednesdays, Jan. 27 to Feb. 24.
The class is appropriate for beginners as well as more seasoned painters.
Participants in this five-week virtual class will learn the basic tools of oil painting to create a work of art. Each class will begin with a specific discussion topic such as color theory, composition, the importance of values, drawing skills and perspective. Students will learn how to read a tube of paint, what kind of brushes they need, and what alternative substrate can be used. They can work from still life, photos or their imagination. As participants advance weekly, they will become more equipped to understand and analyze their own artwork. The cost is $200 for members and $235 for nonmembers.
