This year’s applicants were impressive, and the judging was difficult. The achievements and goals of all of these individuals demonstrates the quality of the youth in the community. The VFW members wish all continued success in the pursuit of their educational and career goals.

This year’s VFW Post 7447 scholarships go to Madeline Betts and Clara-Rosa Hertzog, both of Cape Henlopen High School.

Betts receives this award as the outstanding local graduating high school senior.

Hertzog, Cape JROTC battalion commander, is recognized as the outstanding graduating high school senior sponsored by a VFW Post 7447 member, her father, Jeffery. Post members thank him for his service and support.
