Rehoboth Concert Band sets Holiday Peace Concert Dec. 19

December 15, 2021

Rehoboth Concert Band members are dusting off the chimes and ringing in this festive season with the traditional Holiday Peace Concert set for 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 19, at Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach.

Tickets are $20 per person. Ages 18 and under are admitted free. To buy tickets, go to rehobothconcertband.org or pay at the door with cash or a check.

Masks will be required for audience members and staff.

Attendees can join with friends and family to be inspired and entertained with traditional holiday tunes, some with surprising twists, as well as all the fun and magic this season brings.

Listen carefully to “A Stocking Full of Composers” and find out what happens when too many composers are invited to a holiday party.

“A Hanukkah Festival” will brighten spirits as three traditional Hanukkah songs are woven into a lively medley with an upbeat tempo sure to get toes tapping.

Other selections will capture the full range of holiday-season emotions, from the quiet introspection of “O Holy Night” to the happy antics in “Christmas with Mozart,” plus John Lennon’s songs of peace.

“The music truly brings together all the reasons for the season, sure to touch a chord with everyone,” said Sharon Still, director.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the smaller RCB Baby Band kept the music playing by performing a series of free outdoor concerts in various local neighborhoods in Sussex County.

RCB joyously returns to the concert hall to celebrate this holiday season, hoping to inspire peace within the heart and unity around the globe.
