Rehoboth Beach Police Department dispatcher Greg Tietmeyer recently received his emergency dispatch certification from the nationally-recognized International Academies of Emergency Dispatch.
According to a police department press release, to be ED-Q certified, Tietmeyer met experience and education requirements, and showed professional development in the 911 field. He then passed a comprehensive knowledge test required by the program.
Center Manager Tammy Ketterman said Tietmeyer’s certification has far-reaching benefits and promotes continued excellence.
“This certification attests to the specific and highly specialized knowledge, skills, and attributes of emergency dispatchers. It is an objective, measurable process for determining and validating the competency of individuals serving as lifelines to people needing emergency services,” said Ketterman.
