Rehoboth Elementary students receive donation from Sun Otter Tours

April 15, 2018

Sun Otter Tours owners and operators Steve and Jody Dengler of Rehoboth Beach presented a donation March 15 to Donald Ott’s fourth-grade students at Rehoboth Elementary School. The class received 25 sets of binoculars and 10 Peterson Young Naturalists Field Guides.

The Denglers have taken their love for learning, exploring and teaching, and implemented those values into Sun Otter Tours. Guests on the tour are introduced to the various places and people that make southern Delaware unique, and they learn about local marine life and environment through hands-on activities. The donations were made possible by contributions from Sun Otter Tours customers who participated in their Santas for Science tour in December.

“We’re very grateful for Sun Otter Tours and for the community members who contributed to this donation,” said Ott. “It will allow our students to be able to go outside and experience seeing wildlife up close. It will also help to ensure a new generation of students that will be able to build a personal relationship with their environment while gaining a deeper understanding of our state standards.”
