Fourth-grade students at Rehoboth Elementary School recently participated in Law Day activities to explore the foundations of the legal system and better understand the role of laws in everyday life.
This engaging learning experience was made possible through a partnership with the Delaware Law Related Education Center and directly supports the school’s social studies curriculum. Through interactive, hands-on activities, students were able to build knowledge of civic responsibility, the judicial branch and the importance of the rule of law in society.
"This is a great opportunity for our students to connect what they’re learning in the classroom to the real world,” said Christina Gallagher, RES fourth-grade teacher and event coordinator. “The experience helped our students develop a deeper understanding of their role as citizens while sparking interest in future careers in law and public service. It also created opportunities for critical thinking, while helping them to gain insight into how the judicial system functions.”
