Rehoboth EMTs deserve all of praise

June 4, 2019

On May 30 I witnessed one of the most impressive acts of patriotism. During this crazy late-spring weather, an evening monsoon hit our area. I was passing  Cape High, and noticed many of the flags hung in honor of our fallen heroes had blown over and were on the ground.

As the Rehoboth Beach ambulance was passing (coming from transporting a patient to Beebe Healthcare) they stopped and both EMTs got out and picked up the many fallen flags and put them back in the hard, pouring rain!

Who knows what they had been through all day, how many 911 calls they answered, how many unsightly things they had seen... they still placed our country and patriotism over anything else.

As a nurse, I have always had the utmost respect for all of our front-line emergency crews, but this just gave me a whole new respect for the fire/EMS community.

After posting a status on Facebook I later learned that the responders were Clara Marshall and Josh Keil, who are both full-time EMTs at Rehoboth Beach. I think it goes without saying, they are some amazing individuals!!
