Rehoboth Main Street promoting Small Business Saturday

Shoppers urged to visit downtown, support local stores
November 22, 2018

Rehoboth Beach Main Street is encouraging holiday shoppers to shop local on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 24.

“Small Business Saturday is an important reminder that locally and independently owned small businesses are the key drivers of our economy,” said Karen Falk, Rehoboth Beach Main Street executive director. “We encourage our community and visitors to experience Downtown Rehoboth Beach on Small Business Saturday and year-round. Many accommodations are offering shoulder-season rates, a great opportunity to stay through the weekend.”

According to a new Small Business Economic Impact Study from American Express, an average two-thirds, or 67 cents, of every dollar spent at a small business stays in the local community.

Last year, U.S. shoppers spent nearly $13 billion at small, independent stores and restaurants the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
