Rehoboth thanks all who made tree lighting possible

December 3, 2021

The City of Rehoboth Beach is so grateful for everyday heroes, for the folks who take the time and put in the effort to create something special for the larger community. In Rehoboth Beach, our 35-year holiday tree-lighting tradition is made possible by a team of individuals and businesses that provide their services for the benefit of the greater community:

For 35 years, John L. Briggs & Co. has played a big role in securing the city’s Christmas tree, first through Reds Dolson and now through his daughter and son-in-law Kari and Keith Long. Briggs coordinates the whole process, removes the tree from the donors’ home, and transports it to downtown Rehoboth.

Greg Plummer with George W. Plummer & Son provided the crane and personnel needed to lift the tree on both ends of this process.

Delmarva Power crews secured the tree at the Bandstand site.

This year, the beautifully shaped tree was donated by area residents Rick and Tammy Smith.

The City of Rehoboth Beach is grateful for the generosity and community spirit demonstrated by all of these individuals and businesses.

On behalf of the greater Rehoboth Beach community, thank you for making our holiday tradition possible and special. The City of Rehoboth Beach wishes our everyday heroes and the entire community a happy, healthy holiday season!

Sharon Lynn
Rehoboth Beach city manager
